The Vietnam Omics Society organizes the Vietnam International Conference in Genome Biology (VICGB) every two years, starting from 2023.
The conference serves as a scientific forum for sharing and exchanging research related to genomics. The genome—defined as the complete genetic information of a virus or an organism—has long played a central role in helping us understand the biological world and address biological challenges. The advent of high-throughput sequencing technologies has ushered in the omics era, expanding research beyond genomics to encompass the full spectrum of biological molecules and the complex interactions among them. This process is strongly supported by bioinformatics tools, which enable the analysis of the massive and complex datasets generated. These advances have driven a wide range of applications in medicine, agriculture, industry, and environmental sciences.
